A White Party Can't Be Left to Chance: U by Kotex (Sponsored)

It is party time in Texas y'all!
The city: Dallas, Texas at the end of June. Hotest day of the year, 106 degrees.
The Party: A White Party: Guests are encouraged to dress to impress in all white
The Location: Downtown Dallas, outdoors, porta potties only.

As I was getting ready in the days leading up to the party, I was crossing things off my list, easy, breezy, airy and fabulous white dress (check) sparkly shoes (check) nude colored undergarments (check and check) PERIOD (check).

I don't know about you guys but I stress and stress and stress about my period. I'm not someone that gets grouchy during my time of the month, but my stress levels go through the roof.

Will there be bathrooms where I am going?
How long until I will be able to change my tampon?
How can I get to the bathroom with my tampon without being completely obvious (to all the boys) that I'm on my period?

Insert U by Kotex here! (pun intended)
and for the record, go ahead and intend any more super puns I make from here on out.
Two things I loved about these Tampons.
1. They kept me protected the entire party. I was on day 3 of my period for the white party. That day can be so unpredictable. These were so absorbant, I didn't even need to worry about my covert plan of attack on B-lining to the nearest porta potty.
2. They are TINY in size! I could stash one in my hand and no one would know I was carrying a tampon. The U by Kotex would go from compact to full-sized protection in one easy move. When it clicks, it's ready to insert. Perfect for when you want to carry a spare in your pocket.

The party was so much fun. We sat down to dinner and drinks and good conversation for the first couple of hours, then danced the entire last hour and I was comfortable with zero stress!
You can even request a free sample to try out U by Kotex for yourself! Check out their facebook and twitter pages for even more special offers!
I would say to tweet them some funny PMS stories, but PMS stories are never funny, period.

Oh and P.M.S - I'll have more pictures from the white party and apartment hunting for you tomorrow!

I wrote this review while participating in a content series through Clever Girls Collective on behalf of U by Kotex, and received products to facilitate my post and compensation for my time to participate.

Saturday Sessions: Photo Layout Tips

Tip #1

Never upload pictures from a URL. That includes GIFs as well.

Why, you ask? Well, when you upload from a URL, if the site you uploaded the image from is taken down, or if the person's internet (work computer for example) blocks the site you borrowed the image from... your reader will see this:

I wish someone had told me this earlier. This is one of my first blog posts ever. The post just looks ridiculous now!

Voila! Then you have your image (or gif) on your blog for the whole world to see forever and ever!

Tip #2

When you first start a new blog, blogger automatically has a boarder / shadow around EVERY SINGLE PICTURE. So dang ugly and annoying. It will place a shadow boarder around anything it considers an image. Someone not OCD about clean images may not notice this, but it drives me bonkers.

 For example:

Let's fix this on your blog, shall we?

Next, you are going to copy and paste this code directly into the add CSS section:

.post-body img, .post-body .tr-caption-container, .Profile img, .Image img,
.BlogList .item-thumbnail img {
padding: none !important;
border: none !important;
background: none !important;
-moz-box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px transparent !important;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px transparent !important;
box-shadow: 0px 0px 0px transparent !important;

No more shadow boxes! Yay!

TIP #3

Which Looks better?
I hope you said left. If you said right, I'm gong to assume it is just because you love Adam Sandler and hate my outfit on the left. In which case I'm ok with it.

There IS a way to automatically resize all pictures in blogger to the proper width, but I personally don't recommend it, so I'm not going to talk about that today. That is for another day.

Let's talk about manually resizing all pictures in a blog post using Pic Monkey.
Figure out your post width.
 I could tell you a million steps to take to go into your Edit HTML, find your #main-wrapper width and if you would like to do that, use this tutorial here.
Otherwise, just guess and check. Mine blog is 650px wide, and I left align all pictures to be sure they fit. Start by sizing your picture to 650px (see below), plug it in as original size (as opposed to x-large or medium) , and see if it is a good width for your blog, then adjust accordingly until you get the correct size.
Upload your new saved image in blogger. Be sure you choose original size as the sizing option.

Repeat this for each image you have. Yes this is a couple extra steps, but it will do wonders for the aesthetic of your blog!

Forty - Love

With Wimbledon being played over the course of the next week, I thought it might behoove you to know a little about the sport. I really enjoy watching tennis. I'll sit down to only watch a few minutes of a match, then two hours later I'm grunting and sweating along with the Williams Sisters.

Reasons you will like tennis:
Even the ugly ones are still somehow attractive.... cue Andy Murray. You may remember him better as Kate Middleton's bestie at last year's Wimbledon tournament.
Far less murderers in tennis than there are in football. That is simply a fact. It is kind of hard to murder someone in a front tie, bow shirt. I mean, I haven't tried. It just seems like it.
Games make up sets. Sets make up matches....
Let's talk about how individual game scoring works.

Let's say Serena and Venus are playing each other.

Serena is serving and scores first.
The score is now 15-Love.

Venus wins the next point...
The score is now 15 all

Venus wins the next point...
The score is now 15- 30

Serena wins the next point...
The score is now 30 all

Serena wins the next point...
The Score is now 40-30

If Serena wins the next point, she wins the game.

If Venus wins the next point, the score is 40 all or "Deuce"

At deuce, one player must win the next two points to win the game. If at deuce, Serena wins the next point, she has the advantage. This is called "ad". If the player having the advantage wins the following point, she wins that game. If the player with the advantage loses the point, the score returns to deuce, and they do that all over again.

And here is a more visual example.

Next are Sets. You need to win 6 games to win the SET!

Then finally we have the match.
In most tournaments, the first player to win two sets (best of three) wins the match.

After I made all that I realized it was very overwhelming. But I took the time to make it, so you have to pretend to be interested.

"Ohhh yeah, Sarah, man, that post made so much sense and it really helped me so much! I simply cannot wait to watch Wimbledon this weekend."

and I'll be sitting on the other end of the computer thinking....
Just kidding, I just really wanted to use those GIFs.

Hey let's link up with Whitney, shall we?
For some odd reason I feel the need to explain my song.
Good Mornin Laides..........
