Sweetness

As I opened up the browser to write a new post I just spilled coffee, very hot coffee (not Starbucks) all over my crotchal region. Happy Monday, gang!

Ok that second one doesn't have anything to do with Monday, but when I typed "Monday" into the Pinterest search button this somehow came up and I giggled. And by somehow came up, I did not intend that to be a pun but if the shoe fits....

Speaking of another shoe that fits, Cinderella's shoe fits the Vols like a glove and we are going to the ball! Sweet 16 bound, boys! Everywhere I turn, every radio program I listen to I hear about "the hottest team in college basketball... Tennessee!" Win or lose from here on out, I could not be prouder to be a Volunteer. Talk about a turned-around basketball team... these boys are on FIRE!

Something you may know about me, I grew up playing basketball. By playing I mean it was a year round thing, from summer league, to travel ball to the actual school season, I was a gym rat. As I sit and watch all of these March Madness games, I can't help but think that I should coach. Yeah yeah yeah, I'm sure everybody and their brother says this. But really, I know how to beat teams. I know what is going to work and what isn't. I could tell you how to beat the University of Tennessee... but alas, sorry Michigan coach (I'm positive you're reading this) I'm not going to spill the beans for you.

Anyway, if you hear of an entry level coaching gig open up, holla at yo girl! As far as the rest of my weekend, it was pretty much spent watching basketball either on my couch or in a bar stool. I went out Saturday night and managed to steal an arm band from someone. I don't know why, but arm bands are like pirate treasure to me. With my level of excitement, you would think I grabbed a Michael Kors watch. This also applies to beads, light-up pins and other various promotional accoutrement. Am I the only one with this problem?

Sunday morning I hit up a much needed brunch with Bella from Dateless in Dallas. We went to a place called Malai Kitchen, had great food and great convo! I had met Bella a couple of times before, so it was nice to sit down and get to know another blogger a little better!

Let this four day work week (yup I'm off on Friday for a girl's trip muahahaaha) begin! Oh, and did I mention GO BIG ORANGE?

  3. so why was this guy wearing an arm band in a bar to begin with. was he getting ready to straight murder the dance floor and knew he would need something to clean up his sweat?

  4. So "crotchal region" is going to become a thing... I'm totally going to use that from now on!

Yay for short work weeks... I'm off on Friday for a long weekend too!

  5. So the Vols is short for Volunteers? This whole time I thought they were the Volcans. Is that a thing? Or am I confusing it with the popular skate brand Volcam??

  6. hahaha, the arm band. I haven't stolen one of those in years. Enjoy having a short week at work! =]

I'm a big baseball fan and spent the weekend at Spring Training in Arizona. SO MUCH AWESOME.

  8. Very sorry about the coffee spill... that's never a happy way to start your day! And I'm not a big thief of arm bands, but beads? Heck yes, I will steal them from you whether I know you or not!

  9. Go Orange! I was so happy for you and will be a fan along with you since I don't really have a dog in the fight!

Also, any bar memento I can steal works for me. The most extravagant was a huge straw cabana / tiki / cowboy hat in Europe (just go with it) and my brother still has it and takes it out for a spin.

  12. I’ve mentioned before how I’m not super invested in college sports since I didn’t go to a D1 school or have one in the area…other than SDSU, which wasn’t all that great when I was a kid. Obviously I’ve gotta root a little [or a lot in the bracks on bracks on bracks pool] BUT, taking part in the brackets I’m in totally has me sitting at the edge of my seat. Yay for sweet 16! SDSU is in there too!

  13. While I enjoyed your post, I'm a huge sports fanatic and I don't know if I can totally support your "Go Big Orange" position as I'm from Michigan and really hope to see MSU and UofM battling it out for the championship #BigDreamsIKnow! Fun weekend :)

  14. I used to always say that the men's team needed Coach Summit to come over and show them how to do it! Now they're looking great though. I couldn't be prouder to be from TN.

  15. WSU lost after a great game on Sunday so I don't foresee anymore NCAA game watching time for me this year...so good luck Vols!

  16. Tennessee is pretty much the only hope my bracket has...here's hoping!

  18. ahh that Monday quote is the BEST! I love it.
I played an overwhelming amount of basketball growing up too, I can't even watch the NCAA because I just cry from sadness of missing the "game" so much!

  20. You should see if you can find a coaching position at a middle or high school near you. Or I'm sure there are rec teams in need of coaches too!

  21. Both our teams won when they thought they wouldn't. Oh happy days!

  22. Monday would definitely be crocs! and by the way, that's why I don't drink coffee - I can't handle hot drinks. My legs don't seem to like them too much ;)

  23. Congrats on your Vols! Obviously they aren't in the game anymore, but they made it a few rounds further than most people thought!
