Get Lost

Last year I used that Kate Spade agenda that everyone else on the planet used. I mean, let's be real here, on a scale of one to succulents and gold staplers, that planner was about an 8 on the blogger perfect scale.  Side note, what is a succulent and why does everyone want to find them on Instagram?

Anywaysssssssss, there was a page in the planner that was simply perfect. Get Lost is all it said.

On my lunch break at work I did just that, I got lost.

Well, I didn't exactly get lost, but on the trip to satisfy my $1 McChicken addiction,  I did accidentally take a wrong turn. A wrong turn that led down a one way path to the most beautiful, peaceful and serene public rose garden. I plopped myself right down on a bench and scarfed down my McChicken slowly, while admiring the flowers. By slowly I mean in about 6.7 seconds, have you ever had a McChicken? It isn't exactly a sandwich you slowly graze on. I think they put subliminal pizza in there to make it taste better or something. You know, like subliminal advertising, but for your taste buds.

What is wrong with me? Back to the garden...

The other day CB asked me if I enjoy gardening...

LOLZZZZ NO. But I will go ahead and enjoy other people's handy work, sans dirt filled nails, mom jeans and muddied knees.

There was a walking trail that ran along a waterway for as far as I could see. I did a little research on my phone, turns out, it is a trail that connects several different parks!

And there were books available for borrowing too! If that isn't just the sweetest touch of all time then I don't know what is.

So next time you head out to get a McChicken on your lunch break, I encourage you to get lost. Or make a wrong turn. Or google rose gardens and intentionally find your new lunch break oasis! You never know what you might find, right under your nose!

  1. Wait, was this post sponsored by McD's? HAHA, just kidding! What a lovely little oasis of gorgeous you found! I completely agree, I like gardening...if someone else is doing it! I'll enjoy the fruits of their labor, until my allergies demand otherwise! xoxo, ganeban

  2. This made me laugh out loud! And want a McChicken so thanks! I actually enjoy gardening (sans mom jeans). Succulents are cute little plants that are basically impossible to kill. I've had them in my garden since before they were cool!

  3. McChicken sandwiches are the BEST.

That garden is simply lovely. I am going to have to explore and see if we have anything like that around here.

  4. Mcchickens are the best. I have the Whitney English planner, and I like it but I still don't know if I will get another one next year. Why is it so hard to find a good planner? I need to explore more of WV, but I really don't like it.

  13. Love it! Downtown where I work is SO crappy right now, construction just everywhere. I'm hoping once it's done there will be better walk-able paths to venture on my lunch breaks :)

  16. What a cool place to happen upon. Sometimes I stop in the park to eat my lunch. There are some shoals in the downtown area of the small town I live in and it's really peaceful and shady there. I enjoy eating my lunch there and getting away from the desk.
