Cute Golf Outfits for Women

I can't wait to show you guys this new line of women's golf clothes that you are going to love! If you are a golfer, you need to know about this Nashville based women's golf clothing retailer. Their outfits are so cute that you can feel comfortable wearing them on the course, or even for drinks and dinner after a round! You are going to need these cute women's golf outfits in your life!

Cute Golf Outfits for Women

Although I'm pretty sure most of you know this, my dad passed away when I was 19 years old. While I did get all of my athletic ability from him, golf was the sport we really enjoyed playing together. Unfortunately my high school didn't have a girl's golf team, so the girl's had to try out for the boys team. I had no interest in doing that, so I just kept it as a hobby and would play on AAU basketball-free weekends with my Dad.

To this day, I kick myself for that. Golf comes very naturally to me. I never practice, go out and whack at the ball 3-4 times a year and somehow manage to hit in the high 90s. I cannot putt to save my life, but I will say if there is a long ball contest, you want me on your team hitting from the red tees. I really wish I had put all my focus on golf when I was a kid, maybe even gotten a scholarship to play in college. Ah well, coulda woulda shoulda, right?

I'm embarrassed to say this but I've never actually owned proper golf clothes. I usually go in gym shorts and a tank top and hope that the course will be lenient on the rules with me. Luckily, when CB and I go out, we don't exactly play at The TPC Four Seasons, so thankfully no one has ever given me a hard time.

Just so everyone knows, wearing a collared shirts is widely known to be proper etiquette on a course, and jeans/work out pants are not permitted for men, nor women.

When VK Sport, a Nashville based women's golf clothing line, contacted me, I was so excited to work with them because I could finally feel like I belonged on a golf course. No more mesh basketball shorts and ragged tank tops. I browsed their website and was legit obsessed with every outfit they offered.

This Old Hollywood inspired skort had my heart, I knew I wanted to rock that on the links!

Helene and I took these photos together last weekend, and she kept saying how she would totally wear that skirt, even though she isn't a golfer! I couldn't agree more, seeing as I was planning on playing tennis in this skirt.

You guys need to check out VK Sport's full collection, it is really adorable (and feminine!) perfect for golfers and non-golfers alike!

The 5 Things You Need to Know Before You Go

It's a dark, dark morning for the blog world because HASHTAGS HAVEN'T BEEN WORKING FOR THE PAST 24 HOURS OMFGSDFSDFSDFDDFDDFDSDG!!!!

DID YOU HEAR ME? NO HASHTAGS!!!!!!

To directly quote someone that I don't know at all, "This is an absolute nightmare."

Y'all we gotta laugh at ourselves, how ridiculous do we sound? It's not that big of a deal. I read posts about people asking if they should take their photo down because they felt like it was such a waste of a great picture. I'm not judging, I get it, obviously I use hashtags. Just have a giggle from time to time about it, when you do you'll make your life a lot easier!

On to bigger and better things.... like these 5 Things You Need to Know Before You GO!

Ray Rice went on the record saying if he could get back on an NFL roster, then he would be willing to donate his entire 2016 salary to domestic violence programs. Now you guys know my feelings on Ray Rice, but wait a second here. Should a team sign him, I would imagine he would still command a somewhat decent salary, certainly 6 figures, maybe even 7?

Would that be the worst thing in the world? First, and less importantly, we have disgusting douche nozzles like Greg A-Hole Hardy playing in the league. Ray Rice seems to show genuine remorse and even has gone so far as to be a public advocate against domestic violence.

Second, and most important, think about what that kind of money would do for these organizations that help victims of domestic violence. Think what 7 figures could do for these women and children. I'm surprised I'm saying this, but I think Ray Rice deserves a second chance and that these women and children deserve his 2016 salary.

What do you think?

Rio Olympics have already SET A RECORD, but it might not be a record you will guess. A record setting number of CONDOMS have been sent to RIO's Olympic Village. For those who don't know, the Olympics have a reputation for just being a sex free for all. In London, there was a report that Grindr actually crashed from overuse. Tinder is apparently out of control and chocked full of thousands of athletes trying to hook up with each other.

Here is a direct ESPN walk of shame quote from American Target Shooter Josh Lakatos, "Swear to god, the entire women's 4x100 relay team of some Scandinavian-looking country walks out of the house, followed by boys from our side. And I'm just going, 'Holy crap, we'd watched these girls run the night before.'"

Curious. Most curious.

Here are the numbers:
350,000 male condoms
100,000 female condoms
175,000 packets of lube

I'm giggling over here, for the record.

Check out Cam's Volleyball skillzzzzzz...
Or, maybe not.

Two time Masters Winner Bubba Watson has life figured out.... well, or just golf figured out. As much as I enjoy the wind blowing through my hair while in the passenger seat of a golf cart, I'd much prefer a ride in a jet pack!

What do you think? Will golf jet packing be the next big thing??

Ok I'm a bit late on this last story, but I still want to share it. If you watched the ESPYs last week, you woke up the next morning with red puffballs for eyes from crying so much. Seriously, I've never cried so hard at so many different stories. Happy, sad, inspiring, brilliant, heroic.... the ESPYs pulled at every heart string possible.

Arguably the best part of the show? Craig Sager's ESPY speech after being honored with the Jimmy V award. If you want to feel like you can do absolutely anything you set your mind to, then watch this video. You'll want to take on the world.

It's a lengthy video, but worth watching every second of it.

OK folks, that's it for me.

I'm off to Colorado bright dark and early--- as in before the sun even comes up I'll be in the sky. Follow the adventure on insta and snap!

Why is No One Going to Rio?

image via

Y'all I miss football. The sporty side of my blog totally suffers when there's no football. Someone the other day left me a comment saying they didn't know I was into sports. ERR MERR GERRDD. I've failed. I've totally failed. If you spend just one hour with me, I assure you that I'll find a way to awkwardly bring up the wide world-o-sports.

How bout them Rangers!?!?
Who are currently one of the hottest teams in baseball. The Rangers are so good that their problem is just that, they're too good. Too many good hitters,  hitting too good. Not enough batting spots, even with the DH position. Too good, our team is too good!! #RangersProblems

I just did the research, I haven't posted about sports since May 13th. That depresses me. Don't think I'm not sitting here thinking about it though. I consistently open up a blank Fan Friday blog post and sit there, staring. WHERE IS FOOTBALL?

TOO MANY GOOD HITTERS Y'ALL! Not enough batting spots! #RangersProblems!

Praise the LAWWWWWD, I just remembered THE OLYMPICS! DUH, *FACEPALM*.

Let's talk about the Olympics!

Here's the little bit of background info that I know about the olympics, just from listening to ESPN Radio over the past year. When Rio got the bid for the Olympics, they were in an incredible economic state. While the rest of the world was still trying to bounce back from the recession, Rio's economy was recovered and booming.

As of June though, with speculation of government corruption, Rio has declared a financial emergency and has asked for help financing the Olympics.

Upon receiving the bid, they promised to spend the amount of money it would take to clean up their water. What's wrong with the water, that athletes will be physically swimming, rowing, sailing and competing in?

Well, the water that was supposed to be "cleaned up" is still currently riddled with....

1. Raw Sewage
2. Antibiotic resistant flesh eating bacteria
3. Floating plastic bags, logs and submerged furniture (I kid you not, couches and refrigerators) - all of which will destroy a boat.

Rio promised to clean up this water, but abandoned the project in 2015 because it ran out of money...............................

Still though, it's the olympics!!! This is the dream of all dreams for these athletes and most are still planning on going despite the conditions....

.....Except male golfers.

WHY ARE NO MALE GOLFERS GOING TO RIO?

The vast majority of golfers are saying the Zika Virus is holding them back. This would have been the very first time that golf would be an olympic sport in 112 years, and golf fans all over the world were hyped up for the occasion.

That was until every single top golfer (seriously the top 4 in the world) backed out.
Rory McIlroy, Jason Day, Jordan Spieth, Dustin Johnson, Adam Scott ... and many more.

Rory even went so far as to say that he probably won't even watch television coverage of golf at this summer's Olympic Games, preferring "track and field, swimming, diving, the stuff that matters".

So, at the very least, there is some major controversy surrounding this particular round of Olympics. But hey, look in the bright side, at least we have gymnastics!

Here are my questions for you....
1. What sport are you most excited to watch next month???

2. If you were a pro athlete, would you go and risk the waters and/or the Zika Virus to live out your dream of being a gold medalist?

Fan Friday || Win 2 Free Tickets to the AT&T Byron Nelson

Golf will always hold a soft spot in my heart, more than any other sport out there. Golf was my Dad's favorite sport, and some of my favorite memories the two of us shared happened on the golf course. I was a die hard, year-round basketball player, but I know he always wished that I had made golf my number one focus. I was pretty good considering I never practiced and would only go out and play with him every few months.

When you're a little girl, it is very hard to remain focused for 18 holes of golf. One time, at Band Camp Disney World, we were playing golf and a rogue golf club (PSA: People get mad during golf and throw things) smacked me upside the head as I was doing cartwheels in the fairway. Obviously the guy who threw his club was in the wrong there, but maybe don't take a 9 year old obsessed with gymnastics to play 18 holes of golf in Disney World.

As I've grown older -- and am no longer physically able to do cartwheels -- I've really started to enjoy both playing and watching golf. When I play golf and do well, I know my Dad is up there watching, starting a slow clap after a good chip shot. I picture him giving me a big, excited thumbs up from across the green when I take my time, line up a putt... then sink it.

June 2nd will mark 10 years since I lost my Dad, and I've already asked CB if we could go golfing after work that day in his honor. I have no doubt that would be what he would want.

Well, he'd also want Pat Summitt and the Lady Vols to win a National Championship, but seeing as Pat Summitt no longer coaches and UCONN doesn't know how to properly share National Championships with other teams, I think we'll settle on playing golf.

If you haven't been keeping up with the PGA Tour as of late, you're missing some of the best golfers to ever play the game. Unfortunately, as you know, our household generally has to DVR the PGA Tour, but not next weekend!

I'm really pumped because my Mom is coming in town and we are going to be able to watch it live and in person right here in Dallas at the AT&T Byron Nelson Tournament! Some of my favorite players have committed, like Dallas local legend Jordan Spieth, my favorite player of all time Sergio Garcia and one of CB's favorites Dustin Johnson.

PLUS....
I have TWO SINGLE DAY PASSES to give away!!!!!

If you want to spend a day at the AT&T Byron Nelson Tournament watching some of the best to ever play the sport... just enter below!

I'll be picking the winner first thing Monday morning!
GOOD LUCK!

The DVR Wins Again

I've discussed my hatred for DVRing sporting events before, and yesterday during the Masters my hatred was justified yet again. CB talked me into DVRing the Masters Tournament so we could skip past the commercials. I reluctantly agreed, only because the Masters is his favorite sporting event of the year. I love the Masters, but I do find myself grabbing and scrolling through my phone mindlessly during the broadcast. The thing is like 6 hours long, I zone out from time to time.

It should be noted that when Rory is on TV, I do not zone out. I've been known to rewind and replay on occasion. I'm not sure what it is (pecs, face, butt, smile, eyes) about him, but I just really enjoy studying his golf swing.

You know, studying. You know, so I can improve my own game. You know...

So there we were somewhere in the first 9 -- if you watched my snaps on Friday night, you'll know the Masters has some crazy rules. i.e. it isn't called the front and back 9, it's called the first and second 9 -- and my mom calls excitedly, "ARE YOU WATCHING THIS??!!" She was of course referring to the Masters and I had to scream, "DON'T SAY ANYTHING WE ARE ONLY ON HOLE 8."

Again, I hate DVRing a sport.

About 15 minutes later, my phone chimes... Duh Nuh Nuh, Duh Nuh Nuh
(that's supposed to be the Sportscenter sound, for the record)

Knowing the Mavs and Rangers were both playing, I picked up the phone and looked. STUPID STUPID STUPID.

My phone excitedly reports, "Danny Willett wins Masters." At the time I received that message, Speith had a 5 stroke lead.

It was like knowing someone was going to punch you, but not knowing when it was going to happen. Ok, that's a little dramatic, but you get the point. I didn't enjoy it.

I didn't enjoy watching -- waiting -- for someone to blow a lead like that, especially someone I like. Well that might not be true, there are many, many SEC football teams I love to watch blow a lead.

Man, poor Jordan. I feel for the kid. He's so young, and that was so intense. Not only do you lose something you could have easily won, but you've got to go crown the winner. Yikes. I think he is going to have a seriously difficult time getting over this. I know he is loaded and he can go cry into a giant pile of cash, but he is 22. I cried and pouted over everything when I was 22. (and now still at 29....)

The suspense was totally ruined for me though, because
1. ESPN spoiled everything
2. Our recording cut out around hole 17, so we didn't get to see Jordan finish or the green jacket presentation.

In conclusion, that will be the last time I agree to DVRing a sporting event.
Sorry CB, never again.

Did you watch?! How do you think Jordan handled himself?

The Best Athlete Costumes of 2015

I can't get enough of celebrities in costumes. Anytime I see an article that contains pictures of celebs on Halloween, there's no doubt that I will be clicking that link. Heidi Klum for example, her costume was one of those that you could easily stare at for a solid 30 minutes without realizing how long you had been staring. I read that it took her team 10 hours to put that together, and I believe that! What about our favorite athletes though? Did they dress up for Halloween?? Have no fear, yes they did. Today, I bring you my favorite athletes' Halloween costumes from 2015.

Looking Fore A Good Time?

Golf is one of my absolute favorite sports to not only watch, but also play. I grew up playing golf with both of my parents, but mostly with my Dad. We'd go out on the course, and I'd always ask to borrow my Dad's driver on the first hole. I'd step up to the tee with a club that was way too big for me, and whack it right down the middle. Please don't get too impressed by this though, the rest of my game was and is, horrific. Please don't ask me to putt, just please don't.

*Hits first shot on to green, putts 12 times before hitting it in the hole*

My poor Dad so desperately wanted me to fall in love with the game of golf and get a full-ride to play in college so my parents could use that tuition money on a 3 month elaborate Bali getaway. Alas, when I was a kid though, my two favorite things about golf were getting to drive the cart and buying ice cream from the cart girl.

Fast forward to today, and I've certainly learned to love golf a lot more. I still get excited when the cart girl comes around, but now mostly because it means an ice cold beer is in my near future!

Lucky for me, CB is an avid golfer. We have a blast playing together, and anytime we finish a round of 18, we look at each other and say, "Why don't we do this more often?" We tend to make everything a competition, and golf is no different. He's much better than I am, but there is one way I'm able to pull off a rare golf win against him, and that's at Topgolf.

This past week, a big group of 8 of us met up for a couple hours of friendly competition at one of our local Topgolf locations here in DFW, The Colony, Tx.

If you've never played Topgolf before, the first thing you need to know is that you're going to do great. It's just like bowling in the sense that everyone can play, no matter your skill level. To prove my point, there's a red target so close to where you shoot from, that you could almost underhand toss the ball in the target and score points. Don't be intimidated, it's seriously fun for all skill levels.

There are a variety of different games you can play at Topgolf. The golf ball you're hitting has a microchip in it, and your goal is to hit it in one of 7 targets. The targets range from very close to very, very far away. My favorite game is Topshot, but a full list of game options can be found here. Don't just play the basic "Topgolf" when you go, try a few different challenges! TopChip would be a good game to start with if you're new.

We had a big group of people, split up into two "bays." The term bay is just like a lane in bowling. The service was absolutely fantastic, our waitress was quick and very attentive. She honestly seemed to be having a blast, as was the same with the rest of the Topgolf staff.

Our group had a diverse range of golf experience, everything from first time to ever pick up a club, to players who never miss a weekend on the links. Everyone had a fantastic time.

My mission, as I'm sure you guessed, was simply to win at least ONE GAME against CB.

Just ONCE.

Is that too much to ask?

Apparently yes, it is too much to ask. I lost every time. I guess that means we'll just have to go back every single week until I beat him. I don't think that's unreasonable do you?

Have you been thinking about trying Topgolf in your area? This weekend they'll be hosting the Zombies Ball complete with a costume contest and awesome prizes, as well as Putts and Pumpkins, an event for the kiddos!

Have you ever played Topgolf before?? Did you love it? More importantly, did you win???

Thank you to Topgolf for providing me with a free Topgolf experience, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

That DVR Contraption

I don't know a whole lot about the innerworkings of the DVR machine that sits in four rooms of our home. (Yes, I said we have 4 televisions hooked up to cable. Hello, FOOTBALL SEASON Y'ALL, don't judge.) I've never actually had DVR for an extended period of time before, and I can't quite say I understand the concept.

I could live off two channels, ESPN and Bravo. If the cable companies offered a service that just provided those two channels, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Bravo shows don't need to be DVR'd because if you happen to miss one, they are all found On Demand, not to mention played a trillion more times throughout the week. As far as sporting events go, the idea of DVR'ing sports is just absolutely downright absurd to me. This is one rare time that my boyfriend's and my opinion differ drastically.

CB often DVRs sports, and it boggles my mind every time. Now granted, yes, I am more heavily involved in Social Media than most normal human beings, but how does one stay away from all forms of spoilers for days at a time?

For example, CB still has no idea who won the Open yesterday. I had started the day planning on trying my darndest to stay away from updates so I could watch the recording with him after work. I caved and checked the scores about 35 minutes into the final group teeing off. It wouldn't have mattered though, because my boss was watching from his deck and screamed, "JORDAN BLEW IT!" #SMH.

So we watched the recording together last night, I of course knew who had won and had to stay silent. This is very difficult for me, keeping a secret really isn't my thing. It was about 10:30pm when the 3 golfers that were tied at the end of regulation, started the 4 hole playoff.
CB THEN TURNS OFF THE TELEVISION and says, "Time for bed, I'll pick this up tomorrow night"

This is the part of the post where I insert the most applicable GIF ever created to accurately express the way women feel about men on a regular basis.

Bro. There are 4 holes to go?! I couldn't make it 35 minutes into competition without checking the scores, you want to go another full day? I understand you don't have social media, but what about your friends? What about your family? What about the radio? What about co-workers? What about VENUS TRAPPED IN FREAKING MARS, you read her and she might just write about it!! She might just say WAY TO GO George Glass, congratulations on your Claret Jug.

Whatever, I just don't get it.

Also, for those who don't follow golf, George Glass is not a golfer, that I'm aware of. He was the made up name of Jan's boyfriend from the movie, The Brady Bunch. I'm not a jerk. I will continue to stay silent because I'm just THAT good of a girlfriend. Bah humbug.

Damn DVR.
