Although I'm pretty sure most of you know this, my dad passed away when I was 19 years old. While I did get all of my athletic ability from him, golf was the sport we really enjoyed playing together. Unfortunately my high school didn't have a girl's golf team, so the girl's had to try out for the boys team. I had no interest in doing that, so I just kept it as a hobby and would play on AAU basketball-free weekends with my Dad.
To this day, I kick myself for that. Golf comes very naturally to me. I never practice, go out and whack at the ball 3-4 times a year and somehow manage to hit in the high 90s. I cannot putt to save my life, but I will say if there is a long ball contest, you want me on your team hitting from the red tees. I really wish I had put all my focus on golf when I was a kid, maybe even gotten a scholarship to play in college. Ah well, coulda woulda shoulda, right?
I'm embarrassed to say this but I've never actually owned proper golf clothes. I usually go in gym shorts and a tank top and hope that the course will be lenient on the rules with me. Luckily, when CB and I go out, we don't exactly play at The TPC Four Seasons, so thankfully no one has ever given me a hard time.
Just so everyone knows, wearing a collared shirts is widely known to be proper etiquette on a course, and jeans/work out pants are not permitted for men, nor women.
When
VK Sport, a Nashville based women's golf clothing line, contacted me, I was so excited to work with them because I could finally feel like I belonged on a golf course. No more mesh basketball shorts and ragged tank tops. I browsed their website and was legit obsessed with every outfit they offered.

Helene and I took these photos together last weekend, and she kept saying how she would totally wear that skirt, even though she isn't a golfer! I couldn't agree more, seeing as I was planning on playing tennis in this skirt.
