Switch Out Hurt Players, or Nah?

As I sat in bed Sunday morning watching Fantasy Football Now on EPSN I distinctly remember saying, "Oh, Cecil Shorts is out? Man, I have him on my team."

Did I go immediately to yahoo and change him from my roster?
No. I did not.

Did I go at any time before 12:20 and change him from my roster?
No. I did not.

Did I even open yahoo on my iphone, ipad or mac?
No. I did not.

That is the key to fantasy success. Acknowledge publicly that you have a player that will not be suiting up, get sad that they aren't suiting up, then do absolutely nothing about it. Smooth move ex-lax.

In other sports news: Go Big Orange.
Honorable Sports Mention: Cowboys are going to be the worst team in the NFL this year. I've never seen anything so horrific in my entire life. Romo sucks. Dez sucks (yes I said it, I hate Dez. Who gets "dehydrated" in a dome? No one, that's who.) The defense sucks. Jason Garrett sucks. The refs were the best player on our team with their nitpicking calls! Sad.

Ok done ranting, let's talk about the rest of the weekend. On Friday night, Chalupa Batman and I put our game faces on and headed over for game night with Helene and Michael! Which quickly turned into lets all watch how flipping adorable all of our dogs are together!

Saturday Gee and I cheered on our Vols. As you can see, he got really into it. His name is General Neyland though, after all.

Then Sunday I did nothing but watch football and deliberately not switch out Cecil Shorts. Not a bad little weekend. Now to somehow make it through the next 5 days before I head to Norman to watch the Vols take on Oklahoma!

If you happen to have 3 extra tickets to that game this weekend that you would like to give me for free, I wouldn't be mad about it.

  2. My QB was a game time decision and he didn't play, but I didn't change him out. I'm currently 1 point down with 1 player left to play tonight. I already had a good lead going into Sunday's games thanks to my Seattle players so I wasn't too concerned :) Good luck with your season!

  6. I didn't watch the Dallas game but our Jags were pretty abysmal in the second half (34 unanswered points, WTF??), so they might be competing with Dallas for worst team this year. :(

    Your pups are adorable!

  7. 1. Seriously, how does Romo still have a job? Three interceptions in the first game? Not how you want to start out a season.
    2. Why wouldn't you switch out the player? (I'm new to Fantasy Football!)

  10. I'm just going to ignore your Dez comment but you know who the best player on the Dallas team is.. Dan Bailey. Thanks for those 3 points this week buddy.. lolz.

Have fun in Norman.. I mean as much fun as you can have in that awful city. Make sure you switch it up between Go Vols and Go Pokes.. they will love that!

  15. So I actually sat down to watch the Cowboys and was so disappointed. I honestly think I could throw with more accuracy than Romo. Loving Chalupa Batman because I laugh/snort every time I read it.

  16. I was browsing Target when they news came out about Cam Newton not being QB so I did NOT get the chance to switch him out and I ended up QB-less this week. Oh, and my kicker is suspended. Didn't know that one either. COOL.

  17. The dogs all lined up in a row by height is the cutest thing I've seen all day. Too much cuteness for one photo!

  18. Yeah that Dallas game was hard to watch. Thankfully the only Dallas player I have on my fantasy team is Murray...
