A Picnic With a View

As my sweet baby Veenie kindly mentioned yesterday, I'm currently in Missouri vacationing at Table Rock Lake with CB and his family. The first couple of days we were here, it rained cats and dogs. Yesterday, we had our very first day with sunshine, so we took off to the Roaring River State Park to take advantage of a few hours of fishing!

CB's brother gave me a quick lesson in Fly Fishing and I caught a fish almost immediately! I've got to say, I don't know how I feel about fishing, but I sure do like catching.

Until it starts slithering in your hands and you freak out....

Ew. From then on, I requested someone else handle the fish.
I caught four fish on the day though, not bad for a first time fly fisher, huh?

Each night we are here, the cooking duties are split up between the couples. Last night there wasn't a cloud in the sky so CB's brother and his wife elected to grill hot dogs and hamburgers!

Before I left for Missouri, I went to my local Brookshire's and picked up a few different varieties of the Share A Coke bottles to share with everyone as a thank you for including me in their vacation. My favorite bottles were ones that featured the emoticons and, in the sappiest of fashions, the one that said amour! If you want to find one with your name on it, you can even do that here!

While they were grilling, I found a picnic table that would be perfect to watch the sunset during dinner. I added some beautiful blooming tulips, and spread the glass Share A Coke bottles across the center of the table. I thought it was a picture perfect way of saying thank you for including me in such a beautiful family vacation!

Everyone absolutely loved the setup, the burgers, the coca-colas, the company and of course the sunset!

I also made them a desktop and mobile wallpaper background that they could use for the rest of summer, to remember to always choose ADVENTURE. Life was meant for good friends and great adventures. I thought this touch would pair well with my coke tablescape, and give them something to remember the trip by.
I wanted to offer the background I made to you guys too, so you can share it with your friends and family! I also included an 8.5x11 free printable version for you to frame and give to friends and family!
