Operation Get Fit: Linkup #3

If you fall off the wagon, just get back on. Don't stress. All is not lost. Don't wait until Monday to climb back on the wagon. Don't even wait until dinner to climb on the wagon. Climb back on right now and grab yourself a big glass of water. It's ok, we aren't perfect.

And guess what, if you end up skipping that wagon ride for dinner, then breakfast the next morning, then lunch and dinner the next day, well wagon rides depart all day every day, and you determine the wagon's schedule.

This may sound like a silly analogy, but it's true. If you screw up, just fix it. You know how to control your eating habits. 

Last week I fell off the wagon. I don't want to say I cheated or broke my diet, that sounds too harsh. I intentionally jumped off the wagon, actually, because it was my dang birthday weekend and I didn't want to eat a cauliflower birthday cake. I just kept telling myself, no worries, do what you want right now, but Wednesday morning, you get right back on track, don't let anything stop you! And I didn't. On Wednesday I had my iced coffee with non fat milk and my little breakfast bar and I was right back to being focused on healthy eating. 

I think that is something you need to remember during the holiday season. Treat yourself, but don't sabotage yourself. The longer you stay away, the farther away the wagon travels and the more difficult is to chase down that damn wagon. 

Those who wander are not always lost.

Off to Turbo Kick today before spending my Sunday working, what are you going to do to get out and get exercise today? I'm not sure what it is doing in your neck of the woods, but we have a beautiful sunshiny day here in Dallas, get out and enjoy it!

YES TO ALL OF THIS. i always tell those who are so frustrated that they're not FIT RIGHT NOW! that athletes/fit people were not born fit/an athlete, they were MADE through hard work and determination. your "mistakes" are not what's important; it's how you move on from them that are. this includes any type of fitness 'failures' or falling off the wagon. just get right back on and keep going!

  5. Such a good point! I feel as though if I miss an outing to the gym, half the time I'm "off the wagon" for more than a week or so...been trying really hard to find in-house options to do in case I can't rustle up the energy to commute to the gym. :]

  7. We traveled to Ontario for the Christmas holidays and we've worked out the days that we were supposed to, so I feel really confident that we won't cheat too too much. I'm trying to be really good about eating. I have said no to a lot of sweets. I prefer to eat salty foods, so I say no to sweets so I can say yes to the salty. Like you said, you have to treat yourself but also don't sabotage. So here's to staying fit throughout the holidays!! GREAT progress by the way!! 10 pounds!! WOoop woop!

  15. You are doing AWESOME and I'm so proud of you for actually taking the steps necessary to change something you weren't happy with!!!! I believe indulging every once in a while is necessary. I know that I would never be able to maintain healthy eating habits overall if I didn't let myself go ape shit on some junk food every once in a while. It's about making yourself feel better in general, not making yourself feel deprived. Aaaand you can do whatever you want on your damn birfday!
