Low Cal Pizza Recipe Weight Watchers Points

I've had these photos sitting on my desktop, edited and ready to roll for several months now, I just keep forgetting about them. So y'all know how much I love pizza, right? Well, pizza loves me so much that it packs up everything it owns and moves in right into my thighs (and butt, and legs, and arms).  CB and I both really really love pizza and order it way too often, usually once a week. I know, I'm sorry, I'm an addict.

A few months ago I was looking for a recipe for a lower calorie pizza that we could make on a Friday night, in substitution of our normal pizza order. I stumbled on a recipe on Dinner then Dessert that was so low in calories that I was almost hesitant to even try it. There's no way this will be good....

OH BUT IT WAS.

You're going to think I'm nuts, but it was AS tasty to me as Pizza Hut. Ok ok, if I could have pizza hut without the calories I'd choose Pizza Hut. But since I can't, this one slides in as a winner!

There are only 6 weight watchers points in one of these, which is equivalent to around 250 calories!

Go ahead have two, and some wine while you're at it.

I think the absolute key that makes this pizza is the oregano. I coat this thing in a good helping of oregano, the more the better! Add some oregano to your oregano.

Ingredients

1 La Tortilla Factory Low Carb Whole Wheat Tortilla (Large)

Package of Turkey Pepperoni

Oregano

Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

2oz Lite Cheese
(I used mozzarella, but I'd use any kind of lite cheese the grocery store has. Lite cheese is sometimes hard to come by)

3 Tablespoons Marinara Sauce
(or more, mmmmmm sauce)

Canola Oil Spray

Directions

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. I very lightly coated my pan with the canola oil spray then assembled my pizza directly on the pan. Spread the marinara, followed by the cheese and pepperoni. I topped my pizza with red pepper flakes and gave it a thorough coating in oregano. I did a final light spray of canola oil on top and baked my pizzas for about 8 minutes, until the cheese was bubbly!

I then ate that one and promptly made seconds.
SO. DAMN. GOOD.

Ok now I can take these pictures off my desktop and stop drooling all over my computer.

  2. DIY pizzas are my go-to dinner when I'm lazy. I've been using a whole wheat Naan bread, but maybe I should try a tortilla next time!

  7. What I am trying to understand is why I never thought of using a tortilla as a pizza crust before this moment. I'm such a dork.
