Operation Get Fit :::: Linkup

Oh my gosh y'all. I drank enough last night to kill a small elephant. And by last night I mean all day long yesterday. I don't go out and get crazy that often but when I do, it feels like I am making up for lost time! That is not good. And neither is this post today.

I wish I was more alert at the moment. Blog panning for the loss today. But I didn't want to miss the linkup!! My friend Kristen and I joked last night about coming home and writing a blog post after going to the bar. I don't know if I'm sad that didn't happen, or relieved....

On another note, I went and weighed in at weight watchers on Friday, and I was down another 1.6 pounds! So that puts me at 12.2 total pounds lost. Whoop whoop! I have a sneaking suspicion though that I put all of that back on this weekend.

So here is what I want to know, what drinks do you drink when you go to the bar? I like vodka sodas and miller light, but what other choices could we make for low calorie cocktails at our favorite watering holes?

  1. I am always trying really hard to find the perfect drink to drink at the bar. I find mojitos without the syrup, just the mint and lime are really healthy and pretty good!

  3. ... me too ;) I've recently started loving gin & tonics... I have NO idea how caloric they are, but they can't be too terrible, right?

  4. 12 pounds lost is still awesome! I am not a big mixed drink person and usually just stick to beer. I'm not entirely familiar with WW and what they allow but I am a big Michelob Ultra fan. I think one beer is 95 calories & 2.6g carbs.

  5. Lately I've been loving Deep Eddy Ruby Red vodka with soda water and lime. Or for a super refreshing drink, do cucumber vodka instead of regular vodka... It's delish. Congrats on your weight loss!! Keep it up, girl!

  6. Congrats on the pounds lost! I choose to ignore calories in my favorite alcoholic beverages. I just cannot give up a tasty beer for a low-cal one. I know a few bars are beginning to carry the Skinny Girl brand of liquor/wine. I'm not sure how good they are, but its worth a shot. Another option is a vodka soda with a splash of cran/oj/pineapple/any juice. It gives you a bit of flavor without all the sugar.

  12. I'm doing vodka and cranberry right now, maybe white wine. I don't really drink enough to worry about the calorie count I guess.

  14. Bryan's mom made those ginger mules that you have pictured on Christmas day and they are delicious!! I usually stick to wine because it tends to make me feel really drunk a lot quicker than other things so I don't drink as many which leads to me drinking fewer calories over all and I like to think that red wine is good for my heart.

  20. You have to let yourself indulge once and a while or you'll be off the wagon faster than you can spell DIET. Enjoy life but remember that you have to get back on the horse come monday.

  22. I've been drinking vodka waters and then I bring Crystal Light packs with me to put in the drink. It's awesome - I just kind of look like a weirdo putting packets of stuff in my drink, but who cares. ;)

  23. My go-to low cal drink is vodka soda "soda water" with a lemon and a lime. My friend gets vodka/water and brings those little plastic bottles that have low calorie flavored syrups meant for water.

  24. Depends on the occasion. White Wine spritzers are always good. I feel like im hydrating while i get drunk with those. Otherwise vodka and seltzer with lemon and a lime.

  25. I was told in my cocktails 101 class (yup, that's a class!) that all good drinks have a triangle of composition, alcohol, sugar and citrus, so I feel like as long as you just reduce the sugar, you're good because the alcohol and the citrus aren't SO bad...

  27. I'm a beer girl so I stick to Michelob when I am watching it. If only Dos Equis had only 95 calories...

  28. You had me dying with the "small elephant" comment. I'm a whiskey girl...old fashioned are my fave....nix that...were my fave (now I'm pregnant). Nice job on the weight loss! I'm already looking forward to my post-baby exercise/health goals!
