3 Swimsuits That Will Flatter A Pear Shape

Swimsuits Perfect for Pear Shaped Girls

I'm not going to be bathing-suit-phobic this year. I'm not going to be bathing-suit-phobic this year. I'm not going to be bathing suit phobic this year. I'm just not. I can't. I'm ruining Summer. I've ruined Summer for years and years because I'm terrified of what people will think of me in a bathing suit.

Is that wrong... caring what other people think? Yes it is. Do I care? Yes. Yes I do. I hate the feeling of having judging eyes on me. It's an endless mind game that I never seem to come out victorious on. My terrible body confidence is unfortunately something that rules my life. I let it rule my life 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I have to get a grip on this though. I'm 29 years old and this is me. My mom told me something rather recently that hit home, she said you're going to look back on these years of your life and feel like you've wasted it. She's right. I don't have kids, I don't have that many responsibilities. I have happiness and love and I let my big butt overshadow all of the other good in my world. That was not a pun.

Every year, without fail, I let my insecurities over my legs/arms/butt ruin my Summer. Next year I'll be 30, I'm getting too old for this. From what I've read in every Buzzfeed article ever, I'm pretty sure 30 is the age when you decide what other people think just does not matter. I promise you guys that I am going to try this whole, not caring thing. I promise I will try.

If you read this post about swimsuit shopping, you'll know that I also made a promise to CB that I would not skip out on Summer activities just because I don't want to be in a bathing suit. After that post, I took matters into my own hands and contacted Swimsuits for All who a few of you had actually recommended to me. Yes, I contacted them, and just bit the bullet, knowing full well it would mean I had to post swimsuit pictures on the blog.

I wanted to collaborate with them for two reasons. The first, and far less important reason, is because I have a massive, ridiculous, in your face girl crush on Ashley Graham. Ashley actually models and even has her own line of suits for them. Sad for me, but this line of suits came out after I ordered mine.

If you don't know Ashley, you need to follow her because she will bring out your body confidence. Everything she does, I just want to stand up and give her a round of applause. She is who us mediums need in our life!

The other far more important reason I contacted them is because of their Summer of #MySwimBody campaign. It is EXACTLY what I'm trying to talk myself into. Here is my swim body. It goes in the water, just like everyone else's. The campaign encourages you to share your swim body, then tag a friend to challenge them to share theirs.

So here goes nothing!

I got three suits from Swimsuits For All and I loved each one more than the next. Also, CB took all these photos for me and I can't believe I didn't punch him in the face!

Did you hear me?! WE MADE IT THROUGH TAKING BATHING SUIT PHOTOS TOGETHER, UNHARMED. That right there folks, is what we call a miracle.

Bathing Suit One || Classic Red High Waisted Bikini
Fit Notes: The top was probably way too big for me, but it was the smallest size they had. I wore it with the optional straps and it ended up fitting fine. Bottoms fit perfectly, true to size.

Bathing Suit Two || GabiFresh Electress Pool Blue Bikini
Fit Notes: The top was a bit too big on me, but with the straps ended up being totally ok. Big boobs are not exactly an asset I have. I read the reviews and sized up a size on the bottoms and they fit great!

CB Note: This was the boyfriend's favorite, I think I could have probably guessed that before even putting it on.

Shockingly, no, I didn't spray tan. I know, I'm naturally just this brown. LOLZZZ.

Bathing Suit Three || The Explorer Bikini
Fit Notes: My favorite of all three suits. The details are adorable, as you'll see on the back and the cute tie around the bikini bottoms. Ran true to size and fits excellently. Highly recommend this one, it was so so SO cute.

Swimsuits For All (click here for an additional 40% off your first suit) is trying to get 10,000 women in a swimsuit this Summer, and I challenge you to be brave, post your #myswimbody. JUST DO IT and maybe, just maybe, you'll inspire someone else who has been struggling with their swimsuit body image.

Fix Pin It Hover Button Not Showing Up in Blogger

Pin It Hover Button Not Showing UpPin it hover button not showing up on your blogger blog? When you hover your mouse over an image, has the pin it button disappeared? You need this post that will fix the Hover Pin It Button Issue on Blogger Blog. Also, if you need the original tutorial for installing a pin it button on your blogger blog, you can find that here: Install a Custom Pin It Button On Your Blogger Blog

I first noticed that my blog's pin it button magically disappeared last Friday when I went to pin an image for a sponsored post. Being a firm believer that nothing just stops working without explanation, I set out to get the issue fixed.  I quickly realized that the coding from Bloggersentral was down.

I then set out to find another way of having a custom pin it hover button. NOTHING.

Seriously people, nothing. If you have a custom pin it button, and you are on blogger, then your pin it button is currently not working. Every single tutorial I found on the internet linked to Bloggersentral's script. I tried emailing them, I tried tweeting them, I also noticed that other people were trying to contact them over the issue as well. All with no response from them. Yikes.

After what I swear to you was HOURS of searching, I found a solution on twitter of all places. I searched "pin it hover" and saw a tweet from an account called Georgia Lou that seemed promising. The link in their tweet didn't work, but I managed to track down the post with their solution to the problem. I had to tweak the code a bit to get it to work on my blog, but I finally got my pin it button up and running again. I swear to you I had tears in my eyes. Ok, maybe not, but I was overjoyed.

I'm a little bit nuts when it comes to solving blog related problems. I can't stop until I've got a solution. If you have a blogger template from me that I've recently installed, I went ahead and made the change for you, so you're all good!

NOTE: If you have a blogger blog, and you have a custom pin it button, there's a 95% chance yours is not currently working. This will fix it.

1. Back up your current template
Before you ever make edits to your blog, do a backup.
Go to TEMPLATE
Backup/Restore
Download Full Template

2. Search for the code you'll need to edit
Go to TEMPLATE on the left side of your dashboard
Click Edit HTML
Click your mouse anywhere inside that text box full of coding that pops up.
If you're on PC hit CTRL + F... If you're on Mac hit Command + F to open the search box
Search for "Bloggersentral

3. Find the following code:
WE will be replacing this code but FIRST, you'll want to copy the link to your pin it button, so you don't lose that. You'll find that link located in the 4th line. Copy that link into a text editor or somewhere you can access it in just a minute.

As you can see mine is:
http://i979.photobucket.com/albums/ae274/venustrappedinmars/venustrappedinmars108/pinit.png

4. Replace that code with the following code

Replace all of that code above, with this code:

5. Make the edits for YOUR blog...

In line 3, where it says YOUR_URL_HERE be sure to paste that URL link to your pin it button that you copied from step 3.

*Note, be sure to leave the quotation marks surrounding that URL.

Also, under the URL, you can move the location of your pin it button. I always have mine in the CENTER, but you can also do the following placements:

topleft
topright
bottomleft
bottomright

6. Save Template
The code in the light blue box below is what yours should look like now.
If it does, click Save Template

Now this is a little complicated, so just a reminder again to PLEASE backup your template before you start any heavy code lifting! If you have any questions, just let me know, I'll do my best to help.

If this was helpful, I'd sure love it if you'd either pin this or save this post on bloglovin! It was nearly impossible to find the solution to this problem, and I think bloggers are going to be searching high and low for a fix to the disappearing Pin It Hover Button!

8 Places To Ride Your Bike This Spring

Have you guys ever heard of the hashtag and Instagram account "I Have This Thing With Bikes"? Sadly I am not the creator of that account but I wish I were. I am obsessed with bikes. When I think about visiting my Mom in Virginia Beach over the summer, the mental picture that pops into my head is of us cruising down the boardwalk on a long early morning ride to breakfast.

I get horribly car sick and despise being in a car. When you live in a city with terrible gridlock traffic like Dallas, if there is an alternative option to riding in a car, you take that alternate option. When I was living in Deep Ellum, I took my bike everywhere but haven't gotten the chance to ride much since moving to our house in Oak Cliff. Now that the Spring weather is here -- it was over 80 on Saturday! -- I want to spend as much time as possible outdoors. I'm so ready to start biking again.

My excitement for riding bikes escalated quickly when I learned that the classic bike company Columbia is relaunching their iconic brand. Back in 1877, Columbia started selling some of the most beautiful bikes ever crafted, before any other company in the US. Columbia invented the tandem bicycle, the bike built for two, and the "Playbike" which became the most popular kid's bike of the 60s and 70s.

When looking at Columbia's newest bike designs, I had selection anxiety over picking just one. They were all so ridiculously beautiful. I knew I wanted a vintage inspired ride, but durable enough to handle the bumpy Dallas city sidewalks. I chose the gorgeous Columbia 700c Westfield Vintage City Design.

The Westfield can be purchased at Dick's Sporting Goods and has a ton of features. With unparalleled quality and styling, it is one of the smoothest rides ever built by Columbia. Included on the Westfield is a durable Hi Tensile steel frame, alloy chain guard, seat post, brake levers and brakes, pedals, kickstand, and fenders. It also has an Internal Shimano Nexus 3 speed, LED Headlight and attached fender taillight, an extremely comfortable Columbia Embossed seat, a rear steel rack and brushed steel fenders with full coverage. The 700c x 32MM Gumwall 700c tires are outfitted with 36 whole aluminum rims. Taking a ride on this bike is quiet and not to mention it photographs beautifully.

I still have my garage opener for my old apartment in Deep Ellum (shhhh.. please don't tell them that) so CB and I parked his truck, pulled out our bikes and spent an entire day exploring downtown Dallas by bike. I compiled a list of the places we went on our day of adventure, as well as a few other spots I plan to ride to during these beautiful Spring Months.

Dallas Farmers Market
I love the Dallas Farmers Market year round, but all of the beautiful flowers they had for sale on this trip left me wanting to do a total yard transformation. I'm going to get a basket to add to my bike just so I can fill it with some new plants from the Farmers Market.

To the Dog Park
There is a dog park just a mile away that I can get to by taking only quiet, neighborhood streets. As long as we can ride and safely keep the pups on a leash, the dog park would be a great bike destination.

Romantic Picnic

There is this little spot that CB and I drive by every morning on the way to work that has a breathtaking view of downtown Dallas. We always say we want to ride our bikes and setup a picnic and watch a sunrise or sunset from this exact spot.

Take A Dallas Wall Art Tour
I love Street Art and Dallas has no shortage of beautiful murals. Walking would take you forever, so cover more ground and see more street art by riding your bike instead!

To Our Neighborhood Dive Bar
Because if you aren't rewarding all of that pedaling with a cold beer, you're doing it wrong.

Coffee With Friends
But first, coffee. Sleep in, ride bike, drink coffee.

A Local Park
CB and I rode to my favorite park here in Dallas, Klyde Warren Park. Klyde Warren has wifi, lots of food truck options and even a little dog park.
To Dinner With Very Few Parking Options
I can't tell you how many times I've either given up and left somewhere because I couldn't find parking, or opted out of plans with friends because I didn't want to deal with finding a place to park my car. So many places in Dallas are valet only, save your money and just tie up your bike.

If you're in the market for a new bike this spring, I highly recommend Columbia bikes. They are beautiful, timeless and a fun ride. Be sure to check Toys R Us, Target, Amazon, Walmart and Dick's retailers where Columbia Bicycles can be found!
