Super Bowl Squares 2016 Denver Broncos vs Carolina Panthers

Every year I do Super Bowl Week here on VTIM and the time has finally come for Super Bowl 2016 Week! I had planned on starting Super Bowl Week on Monday, but the snow in Denver had other plans for me. So without further adieu, let's get started with the one game you MUST HAVE at your Super Bowl party... Super Bowl Squares 2016 for Super Bowl 50 || Denver Broncos vs. Carolina Panthers. This post includes the free blank printable version of Super Bowl Squares 2016 as well as instructions on how to play Super Bowl Squares.

Not a big fan of Super Bowl Squares? Have no fear, I'll be back later this week with a Super Bowl 2016 Drinking Game!

How To Play Super Bowl Squares 2016

Step 1 || Determine the cost of each square. To keep things simple, I'd recommend just $1 per square.

Step 2 || Those participating purchase desired number of squares
(Only purchase white squares, leave the shaded squares blank for now)

Step 3 || After all of the white squares are purchased, the host will write the numbers 0-9 in random order in the shaded squares across the top of the board. The host will then write 0-9 again in the shaded squares vertically down the page.

Step 4 || You'll have 4 total winners throughout the game, so divide your money 4 ways.

Step 5 || Find your winners. At the end of each quarter, half and finish of the game, match the last digit of the Broncos score, and the last digit of the Panthers score to find your winner.

So if these instructions are a bit confusing, and you are more of a hands on learner, like I am, here is an example:

Let's say I'm having a party and I ask my party guests if they would like to buy squares. The squares cost just $1 a piece. Here are what my party guests buy...

Oscar the Grouch (OTG) - Asks for 10 squares - puts in $10

Miley Cyrus (MC) - Asks for 5 squares - puts in $5 (cheap ass)

Peter Griffin (PG)-Asks for 10 squares and a Pawtucket Patriot- puts in $10 but no money for the beer

General Neyland (GN)- asks for 5 squares - but just gives me a high 5. So, I go ahead and cover his $5

You know I wouldn't skip a gambling opportunity. Sarah buys 10 squares - $10 (SRW)

Terrell Owens (TO) - tries to buy just 5 squares, I tell him if he buys more I'll be his Facebook friend, so he buys 20 - $20 (He ended up having to take out a loan for the $20)

Buggs Bunny (BB) - comes in and scoops up the rest ($40)

With $100 in the pot. We will have 4 winners, each winner gets $25! Our board now looks like this...

Super Bowl Squares 2016 Example

Our next step is to randomly list our numbers across the top and down the side.

We sit down and start shoveling cheese dip and funneling beers into our belly, while watching the game.

The first quarter ends, and the score is Carolina 7 - Denver 3. Find 7 on Carolina's side, and 3 on Denver's side, then you find your winner!

And Buggs is your first quarter winner! Yay Buggs, get it! Any questions??! I'm here to help!

*Warning* Always play with ice cold (Miller light) beer! And of course drink responsibly and junk.

Spicy Moscow Mule Cocktail Recipe || Drink on Fleek

Spicy Moscow Mule Recipe I'm going to start this Spicy Moscow Mule recipe post by explaining why I don't own an authentic Moscow Mule mug. Well, you see, I'm still waiting to find one for less than $8. I understand that the cost of copper is simply quite expensive, but I'm not ready to give up on the hunt. I've set a goal for myself and gosh darn it, I still think I'm going to find one for $8 or less.

..... and when I do..... jokes on y'all! Muahahahahahhahahahahaah

Ok, glad we've cleared that up. Instead, I have the most appropriate, adorable little cups that my long-time bestie (and college roomie!) Magen sent me for Christmas. Seeing as a Moscow Mule's primary ingredient is Vodka, I can't think of a better cup to use!

Well, that is until I find a Moscow Mule mug for $8 or less.

A couple of weekends ago, CB, my girlfriends and I had a Saturday Funday. We started at one of my favorite Saturday afternoon activities, The Deep Ellum Brewery Tour. For $15 you get three (very strong) beers and three solid hours of good convo and fun with your friends. After the brewery, we hit up a few different bars. At each place we stopped, my girlfriends both asked if the bartender could make them a spicy Moscow Mule. Most everyone's reaction was to offer them a Mexican Mule, which is made with tequila instead of vodka.

My brain of course ding ding ding-ed and promised them that if they came over one day the following week, I'd find out how to make a real Spicy Moscow Mule for them. Hence, the inspiration for today's drink!

The Spicy Moscow Mule

|| Ingredients ||

2oz Vodka

1 Jalapeño, sliced into wheels
(you can also use a Habanero if you're braver than I am)

1 tbsp fresh lime juice

Ginger beer

|| Directions ||

Muddle two (one if you don't want a ton of heat) jalapeño wheels in the bottom of your cocktail glass-- or in your Moscow Mule mug if you've sprung for the real thing. Fill your glass with crushed ice, then add your vodka and lime juice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a single jalapeño and lime wheel.
