When people think about taking an adventure, their mind immediately jumps to hiking a mountain or going white water rafting or even jumping off a cliff! Now, I love a good adventure, but my idea of adventure seeking is way more tame. I'm not exactly what you'd call, outdoorsy. That certainly doesn't mean though, that I don’t love a good URBAN adventure! I've partnered with an amazing wine brand, Sheep Thrills® to bring you one of my favorite Dallas adventures that DOES include heights, there is just far less sweat and adrenaline needed! After our adventure, we kicked back with a couple of bottles of Sheep Thrills wine, a wine that originates in Abruzzo. More details on that a bit later, let's take this adventure first!

Right here in Dallas there are so many adventures to be had, like mural exploring, playing tourist in your own city or even taking a foodie adventure with a buddy. I grabbed my friend Larissa and we went on an urban adventure to discover one of my favorite Dallas attractions, Reunion Tower. Plus, if you're hell bent on breaking a sweat, then do this adventure in Texas in July. I personally guarantee, you'll sweat.

Reunion Tower is one of my favorite Dallas icons. Not only does it light up at night (and display our various sports teams logos and colors after a win) but it also offers 360 degree views of my favorite city: Dallas, Texas.

You can even take public transportation there! See, told you there was adventure. I personally ride the DART (our train system) all the time, and I think you should give it a chance if you haven't already. If you're coming from Oak Cliff, you'll take the Red Line toward Parker Road Station and get off at Union Station. The blue line, the red line and the TRE all pass through Union Station. Here's a map of the entire DART Rail System so you can find the best way to get there. It's easy, far easier than NYC or Chicago, I recommend it.

For the walk from the DART to Reunion Tower, let your feet guide you. I promise they'll know the way!

The cost to visit Reunion Tower is $17 per person. They also offer a pass that allows you to come back in the evening and take in the night view.

The elevator ride is quick, and doesn't give you any of those heebie geebies (no idea how to spell that, just go with it) you get from taller attractions. Ahem, one world observatory in NYC, I'm looking at you bro.

There are two areas in reunion. A closed-in space that still offers all the views, OR if you aren't terrified of heights, a much more open space. You certainly can't fall through, but you can stick your hands out and freak out over the thought that it's a very REAL possibility you could drop your phone 561 feet down. Can't think of a larger adrenaline rush than the possibility of losing your iPhone....

Braving the phone drop has its perks though...

Hold on to your dress, it's windy up there!

Taking an urban adventure has it's perks though, and one of those perks is finding a little nook of grass near Reunion Tower to lay a blanket down and have yourself a reward for all of your hard work! Plus, if you find a spot close enough, you can still marvel at your accomplishments you conquered.

Like I mentioned earlier, after our adventure we opened a couple of bottles of Sheep Thrills wine. One was the Sheep Thrills Pinot Grigio, which has a fruit forward taste that’s decidedly refreshing. It's your go-to vino for a variety of food -- seafood, sushi, white meats, cheeses -- and even pairs well with a trip 500+ feet in the air!

We also had the Sheep Thrills Red Blend which is a full flavor with notes of cherry and spices. Pair this one with rich sauces, pastas, red meats and of course, trips up to Reunion Tower!

So the next time you're in the need of an adventure, don't neglect the idea of playing tourist in your own city! Adventure is everywhere, even downtown. Plus, when it ends in a night of hanging with friends and some excellent wine, what's not to love?

Do you have any attractions like Reunion Tower in your city? Where's your favorite city to take an adventure?
