I'm a "medium" (have always fluctuated from sizes 6-10) and it's taken me quite some time to really feel good in my skin, but I don't feel the need to hide anymore. Sure, I don't fit the model-thin or plus-size mold, but I'm strong. I've carried two babies in my body and nursed them, ran races, lifted heavy weights, and done all sorts of other fun things with my body.

It's not easy finding inspiration for clothes but I find that when I wear things that are more form-fitting, I feel and look better. Since I'm hourglass shaped, I usually try to accentuate my waist, so instead of boxy t-shirts, for example, I wear shirts that nip in at the waist. Sure, that makes my soft stomach a little more obvious, but I still think I look better than if I were wearing a big baggy shirt! I like jeans that come up a little higher in the waist, like mid-rise, since they show off my hourglass shape better without giving me any muffin-top! I haven't worn shorts in years but I do love dresses and think a-lines are always flattering.

Anyway, great post :D You're beautiful!!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578996577431253756.post-66171606574787627542015-05-13T09:22:40.076-05:002015-05-13T09:22:40.076-05:00Great post! I've been thinking all this time that I was "bigger" or "curvy," and while I am bigger than some girls and definitely have curves, I think I like the medium label better. It seems more accurate. When I say things like "I need to lose about 6 pounds" people aren't sure how to take it but I learned long ago that being a medium is all about the happy medium. Right now I'm getting back to being a more fit medium but that doesn't change my jean size... All it changes is bing more of a 7/8 or an 8/9. It's not even a real pant size difference but mediums (at least the ones I know) feel this weird pressure to be smaller because to some people it seems like we're just a bit bigger than we could be. No. We're just mediums and we are awesome.
